New, plastic on handle, Wilson Blade 104 18X19 tennis racket in a midplus 104 square inch head. Serena Williams plays the Blade 104 on the tour. This Blade has black and neon fuschia graphics, weighs 10.2 ounces unstrung and is 27.5 inches long.

It is balanced at 32.5 cm for a 8 pt. The Blade 104 utilizes Wilson's Amplifeel grip, Parallel Drilling, Power Holes, Double Holes grommet, and Smart Tennis Sensor technology. Amplifeel grip technology places basalt planks in a foam handle to dampen unwanted vibrations.

I have yet to find a Wilson racket that actually has parallel drilled grommets. Wilson did appear to angle the grommets at the 2/5/8/10 points of the head a little more in line with the other grommets but I think Wilson engineers have an odd definition of the word parallel. At any rate, Wilson claims that parallel drilling provides a consistent, more forgiving stringbed response while dramatically increasing the sweetspot. Power Holes are found at the 3 and 9 o'clock portions of the head which allow more string movement.

This racket also has Double Holes grommet technology. Wilson Double Hole grommets are larger than traditional grommets. This allows for 26 degrees of string movement vs. 22 degrees for conventional grommets.

Extra movement in the grommet hole allows for greater trampoline effect, adding power, and increasing ball pocketing on impact with increased shock absorption and comfort. This racket is Smart Tennis Sensor ready. The easy-to-remove butt cap trap door insert allows you to insert the Sony Smart Tennis Sensor(not included) on your racket and let the built-in motion and vibration sensors analyze each stroke. Results are beamed through Bluetooth® connection to your smartphone so you can see them right away. Recommended string tension is 49 to 59 lbs on this 18X19 string pattern. I've found a few places on the net that say this racket has a stiffness of 55. I checked a few out on my Babolat RDC and got 65 across the board. With a straight beam width of 22, a somewhat dense string pattern, and a big midplus head size of 104, I would recommend this racket for just about anyone with a fast swing that wants plenty of control.
